Hello,

I'm doing some minor stuff on my car this morning, and a washer has just fallen into the vee or the engine. I can't find it and I've read one should be really careful not to let anything fall in this area. What should I worry about? Am I good to remove the fuel rails and everything?

You have to be carefull about things fouling the belts and things down there.

Fuel rails not a hard job to get off.

Thanks for your answer!

Is it just about the belts? There is no risk of something getting inside the engine (I mean, top of the engine is closed and seale, right?).

Thanks!

You should try a flexible magnet tool first.

You can get under the coil packs or under the alternator very easily with the the magnet.
Plus - you could also remove the aircon pump first as that is pretty easy and will also give you a lot of access with a flexible magnet tool.

Thanks for your answer!

I have such a thing and used it quite some time to try to fish the washer. No luck, no washer.

I started the car, set it up, went for a drive. Everything went fine...

Thanks,

Julien
