I got back from holiday, and upon greeting the cerb i got nada, zip, absolutely nothing, not even alarm lights, it was just completely dead. Got in using the cerbera jedi owners jiggery pokery magic, jump started, had a fantastic time hooning eastbourne style (laying down rubber etc man I missed the cerb!) then after a while the battory light came on, dash lights seemed dim, got dimmer, car eventually conked out and it was low loader time. The AA diagnosed the alternator as being dead (putting out volts, but not many) and dream machines now have the beast.

Totally gutted after spending the last 2 weeks looking forward to this weekend, massively grateful to eezeegeezer for picking us up!

Dealer says it might be the big fuse, I hope so or its no car (again) this weekend

big fuse symptomns include - battery light, rev counter delay coming to life and total loss of battery power.
I would suggest replacing battery as well now!

Agreed big fuse. These seem to degrade over time, with heat and vibration. Take the old battery out and put it on a slow carge of about 48hrs, if you can check the level in the cells.

Replace the fuse and refit the battery and that should do you!

Chers for that The rev counter was all over the place, so it does sound like the fuse, which is good as its a fast fix.

My cerb is on the drive, I cant hook up a trickle charger, praps the best thing is just to buy a new battory?

What happens if I keep using the one I have for a few weeks/months? Assuming its charged a little, and I clock up some miles it'll hold its juice and be ok for a while, wont it?

If the battery is really flat then the alternator will not always be able to charge it. The best thing you can do is try. Change the fuse get a jusmp start, if needed, and give it a go!

If it does charge it up then the battery should be ok for the remainder of its life.

When you say if it charges up (I dont have any volt meters or suchlike) Im assuming its fine if its starting the car, and a week later is still running perfectly?

if battery really flat then attach another cars battery for jump start - u tleave it attached for 10 mins before trying to start yours.
