How do you remove the gear gaiter?
Discussion
as title says, anyone any idea?
i've searched the forum, and clearly you can remove them as folks talk about replacing the leather. But i cannot remove it.
is it glued in place? does the transmission tunnel need to come out and then remove it from behind the tunnel?
any help/advice, much appreciated
thanks

Mine isn't, it flaps about uselessly within the hole. This leads me to believe that the adhesive probably isn't very strong since mine has detached itself and emerged unmarked from it's encounter with the glue. Unless TVR did the Jag thing and switched to a water based glue for a time.
I think therefore that you should be able to pry it off by gently working the seam with the same kind of tools that you use to pry door card trims etc.
Once it's out of the way, you should be able to remove the gearknob head and slide it off. I say should, because I tried last night, failed and I'm just about to post a thread about it.
