Upon stripping the front drivers side suspension I've come across this fluid leak, I cant seem to see where it has come from as the fluid is everywhere.
Is there a common place that the Cerbera seems to leak or is it a case of cleaning down and inspection.
On a plus note the chassis is well protected against corrosion now 😎

That's the crank case vent that feeds back into the airbox. I've not managed to seal mine despite many attempts.

despite numerous attempts i never managed to seal mine either. I gave up and took the view that the oil would stop the chassis from rusting

That's interesting.

The breather can leak in five places.

1 where it connects to the crank case. On standard engines, the bolt that fixes the hose mount, sticks out and makes it hard to fit the hose flush.

2 where the hose connects to the air box. Getting the jubliee clip to seal, in my experience, has been difficult.

3 the seal on the catch to air box. The hose connects to a small round catch. Which is connected to the air box. The seal between the catch can and air box can leak.

4 the fuel tank breather hose. This connects to the air box catch can. The catch can has oil in it all the time and if the breather hose isn't connected tightly it will allow this oil to leak out.

5 the catch can itself. It's fibre glass. You can buy unpainted replacements. The edges can get chipped for one reason or another, which causes a leak.

If it is one of these causes it a relatively easy DIY

I'd start there!

ETA. On point 1. If you replace the bolt with a flat cap head then the hose will fit properly (thanks Jason at STR8SIX!)

That's my excuse for everything.

rust prevention.

I replaced mine with the aluminium replacement from radtec, expensive, but doesn't leak. I've welded a 90 degree pipe to help give a bit more room for the dip stick but didn't make much of a difference.

It seems to me that the catch can is designed to crack.

Yup, me the same, particularly if I over-fill her.

Had an idea to buy a polished alloy catch tank and fit it between the chassis tubes, below the F1 panel.
Shirley, someone must have done this, No ? scratchchin
