Hi all,

Trying to source a replacement cam chain tensioner, apparently non longer available at the usual sources. Anyone go one that you are willing to sell?

Thanks in advance.

Looking at the tensioner in Tanguero's pic, you would think it should be possible to have the nylon replaced.

I hope so because it is rather disconcerting to find that it's NLA.

I have two issues with mine, the nylon has worn just on the tip, very close to then final set of rivets and the pivot hole is slightly elliptical, hence I want to replace it. Seems I will have to remake this part myself...

That would suggest the chain had started to stretch.

I still can't believe that there's a simplex version of the chain for sale, if the duplex chain can stretch then a simplex version would be madness.

Agree. When I bought the car the car the chain wasn't correctly adjusted, I made a shim to put behind the adjuster rod. Now I have the engine out I can obviously see the worn parts and have put a new chain on. Looks like I have a good source for the replacement material, going to see these guys on Thursday, they have done some stuff for race applications before. Also found a local machine shop who can mill out the old pivot hole AMD turn down a new one. http://www.dotmar.com.au/nylon.html
