Found some mayo on the dip stick. Nothing obvious in the oil filler tube / cap. Couldn't see anything obvious in the expansion tank either. Car has done a couple of long runs recently going up to Scotland and back. Discovered mayo after stop off at parents near Birmingham. Checked again when I got back to London and still mayo on dip stick but could have been left over from some in the tube?

Is it worth getting some block tester to put in the coolant to check for exhaust gasses or just take it to the garage?

no harm in doing so.. had it been left standing for any length of time prior to the journey mentioned?

Yes, long enough to require the battery to be recharged so about 4 weeks. Also had water leaks in the cabin leaving about a pint of water in passenger foot well.

Nice.... Could be condensation, but id definitely get it checked for piece of mine.

however, my SP6 was over pressurising in a big way prior to rebuild in July, but nothing showed in the coolant. although the pressure made it very difficult to test.

If it has been left standing or done short runs before a proper trip then very likely condensation.

Heh, the one car that I passed on the way wink I was taking it very easy due to the cold, gets very draughty over 75, even with lots of squishy balls in the holes at the front (and I am still on summer tyres).

I was coming back from Beauly that day, probably passed so disappointed I didn't see you.

Know what you mean about the draughts too. I did a 200-mile trip in the snow and ice about five years ago and I've only just thawed out.
