They are original, but I did have them powder coated and fitted with new bushes two years ago. Both sides are deformed to the same extent. Bear in mind that I haven't hit anything!

The new wishbones with prefitted bushes are from RT Racing, they are finished such that you don't need to chamfer the edges of the ball joints.

Ouch - Thanks for sharing.
I'll be inspecting mine in the next couple of weeks.

I am not surprised they are bent and twisted, seen you abuse the poor old girl around Zolder laugh

Its because they're pretty rubbish. The sides have collapsed in around the shock mount where the bolt has clamped the shock.. and the deformation along the length is again down to the construction. I poly bushed my car last year, and the new upper rear wishbones i used were formed slightly narrower than the old set.. i could literally bend them to the correct position by hand!!

I also saw the arms deform, under compression of the bolts, at the uprights to wishbone mounting points..Un-inspiring...

I don't think so, but rather because they are nearly 20 years old and were badly neglected by the PO who let them rot. I should have changed them rather than get them cleaned and powder coated, this is what they looked like before.

If they didn't deform at all then you wouldn't be able to clamp them to the upright bush, instead they would inevitably be lose.

Not to the extent these deform.... Its simply poor manufacturing tolerances.

It could be down to all factors, age, design, material etc but if it has been tracked then it would put a strain on them as racing car wishbones get changed regularly due to fatigue

10,000,000 serrated racing kerbs at speed and power can damage anything.

Well done, mate drivingcloud9thumbup

I tend to avoid Kerbs now after the dressing down I got from Roy (doogalman)
