Hello, I just received my brake kit HiSpec Megamonster 370 mm.
They do not fit into my 18-inch SP12 wheels.
So switching to 19-inch wheels forced.
But there is very little information: offset, tire dimensions;
And what's going on in the wheel arches?
Thanks.
Thomas

Do the discs and calipers go straight on with a spacer or is there a bit more modification to get them on

This might help

Front tyres could be 30 profile - Michelin Pilot Super Sports- 235/30 19's but these are ZR and ideally they should be W or Y speed rating. Or 225/35 19's but then you are losing 1.3cm arch space.
I suspect wheels would be the hardest to source - offset would need to be high - at least et40. Unless you start modifying the arches, but then its already burning your wallet. Might be best to moderate ambitions and downsize on the discs/calipers.
A geo specialist with racing set-up experience could measure and advise.

My first question is why do you need such huge brakes when the standard set up with good pads will lock the wheels even on hot slicks?

What do you think you will gain?

19inch wheels will ruin the ride quality.

There have been a few people to fit 19 inch rims on a Cerbera however they did have to modify the arches.

I remember reading that PW didn't like even 18s on a Cerbera because he felt they ruined the handling, so I don't suspect 19s will do you many favours in the ride/handling department.

Going full circle, the devil in me suggests that you might find that you end up actually needing the bigger brakes to slow you down in the right way to compensate for the difference in outside tyre loading at apex and on acceleration.

That could all be bks and the kind of thing only Lewis Hamilton would spot, but it looks like you're the guinea pig!

I was thinking the same. Also it's the ratio of disk size to rolling radius that determines the braking efficiency is it not? So going larger with the latter defeats the point (imagine you had 100" wheels, the brakes would be useless). In other words you would need super skinny tyres to make the most of the extra braking torque, which would make the ride even worse. It's a light car..
