4.2 Important Check
Discussion
Found the cause of my recent instantaneous oil pressure loss.
Wanted to share it as a warning so that this befalls no one else; go check your airbox screws now!

Yep, that's an OS airbox screw, I noted one was missing when I started the strip down.
Think I might install a shield over the exposed PAS drive when it goes back together (oh if only that drive flange was round not triangular).
Now to investigate the collateral damage...

I was far far luckier than you.
When I filled the engine bay with kitty litter at Zolder two years ago the PS Woodruff key failed, but no other damage at all.
At the time I thought a debris shield would be a good idea, but I never got around to doing anything.
Your experience is making me reconsider that rather lazy decision.

I'm liking the coil packs at the front of the engine, is that a mod ?
Mine are at the rear!
Thank you, never use air con so junking the pump was an easy choice.. it`s debateable if the coils actually benefit from clear airflow but the void created at the rear of the engine is a positive for access and heat dissipation. Mine are at the rear!
The big plus is dispensing with the condenser/radiator allowing free air to the coolant radiator.. on the move I sit at 80 and whilst the temp will still climb when stationary the fans reel it back in far more efficiently ...

Flatdash - what colour is yours... looks suspiciously similar to mine and I am trying to work out what colour it really is.
Thanks
Hi env.. it`s Spectrum Tiffany Green..bThanks

No idea of the original source,I did see a Jap sub compact wearing a similar colour some years ago.. The positive thing is most paint suppliers nowadays can match to a sample,I painted the underside of the nose recently with an excellent match,I can drop you some over if you have a problem.
Is yours ****CDP ?
