Evening boys and girls, fresh from my service at HHC which went very well other than a new starter
motor (which the warranty company are paying for in full!!) I came to the conclusion on the long drive
that the fitted 'disco special' ICE is pants. Yes the engine sounds great but sometime a tune or two is
required!

I am putting in my old Pioneer rescued from my Porsche before I sold it and the Bass Tube too.
The Tube itself fits nicely in the left corner of the boot with plenty of breathing space for the Port.

The Amp would ideally sit close-ish again to the left hand side of the boot, the thinking being that
the cable run from the battery would come down the left (interior) hand side too and a shorter run is better
than a long one.

Does anyone know of decent places for feeding cable through before I start pulling stuff apart that won't
help and are there any good earthing points at the rear?

Cheers
Sticky.

I ran an active sub (bass tube with built in amp) easily out of the bulkhead from the battery and tucking the cables up under the center tunnel and rear seats.

I passed the cables out of the grommet between the rear seats and the boot. Finding and earthing point was harder but asking on here revealed there is a grounding for all rear electrics above the petrol tank.

Pretty easy but time consuming job

Finally got around to getting this done! Not difficult as such, more where did that 6 hours just go?! As said above, took the main power feed for the amp through the large cable route rubber grommet/doughnut thing under the front bulkhead next to the header tank. Fed it along the dash then along underneath the transmission tunnel underneath the back of the helmet unholder then through a hole that someone else had kindly left me tongue out and then along the top of the tank. As said above, there is a nice big earthing point around there too.

Amp is attached with some super duper velcro (screw fix), and the tube wedged and velcroed too. Added a few extra just in case straps and all seems good (read; hasn't fallen off.....yet). Took a closer look at the front door speakers, baskets all rusty and marking the leather...They looked old enough to possibly be originals, so replaced with with an old but hardly used set of Phase Linear which not only sound better but look much smarter too.

All the other cables were fed along under the tunnel cover and nothing seems too upset so far.

Can now hear words and a little bit of bass without having to crank it up teenage son level rolleyes

Cheers

Didn't fancy taking power from the main supply in the boot?

Ha! Where were you when we were all asking how to this?! Damn you biggrin

You still have to run the amp remote feed/switch and the RCA cables from front to back anyways so the same process needed to be followed.

Good to know there is a power feed in the boot though.
