Clutch Master Cylinder empty after winter rest, no oil on floor, topup pumped peddle, topup pumped peddle, peddle returned to normal, tested all fine. Where has the oil gone and i am i heading for something else.

Yup, you are heading for problems. I found I could top up and bleed it and be OK with no change in fluid level for a week or more then lose the lot on a journey to the local shops. I could park up for a month and lose nothing then park up for a night and have no clutch in the morning. No pattern to it at all.

The hydraulic oil seems to be very adept at becoming invisible after it leaks out. I don't know if it evaporates or can soak into concrete or what but mine was the same. Could lose the lot and no sign of it anywhere on the floor or around the bell when it came out of hibernation. After numerous slaves I plumped for the nuclear option and changes everything from the pedal rubber to the flywheel, hoses and the lot. I now have a reliable clutch that has survived the winter and several days out without losing a drop.

With my remote reservoir mod I can check the level just by opening the bonnet. It would go down by about a teaspoonful every few days, with the tiny remote reservoir becoming empty in about 3 weeks. However, in my case the fluid would end up in the tray underneath smile

It's currently at APM for new slave, clutch pack (friction material ok but tired fingers) and new flywheel. Thinking I should have the master cylinder changed as well to prolong slave life scratchchin

yup, master cylinder leaks are more insidious. The fluid ends up in the car and few clues as to problem until you are stuck in a layby in the pissing rain. And they cost peanuts anyway.

The mod is holding up. I had to retighten the nuts securing the pipe to the cap after a few months. Could do with a bigger reservoir though, it only holds two cylinder-fuls of fluid so you have to top it up after every two pumps of the bleeding pedal lol

"Sometimes" leaving the car for a period of time causes the slave cylinder rubber seals to dry out and shrink causing the fluid to slowly leak so that could be the problem as well and they will just suddenly fail when you go to change gear, it could be the master cylinder but you should be able to find the leak from that inside the car in the foot well just run your hand up the clutch pedal and see if there are signs of fluid, either way something is leaking

You might be lucky and nothing will happen but by the sounds of not , good luck
