Just stop looking at bloody Cerbs and you'll be fine...every time I see one It plays havoc with my mind and I think of selling my Chim and buying one as well.
Well its got a new chassis fitted by Ed and the fella who gets to pump the brake pedal on camera occasionally. it must have been on the road a bit as its 60 odd thousand miles from memory.

and who needs to take the roof off when you can lower the windows and take the side offWith prices seemingly on the contiual up and up.......a car with a refreshed chassis should be worth this......sure you can find cheaper......but there are cars with it done and then there are those that WILL need it done........go see it ....drive it....and if it mAkes you smile ....buy it!!!! Value will only increase.........
I've watche that WD episode a couple of times. The replacement chassis was zinc hot sprayed if I remember right before being powdercoated, not dipped. And it was a refurbed one, not brand new. RT Racing did it.

Ed used a pry bar to help get the engine back and it was hard to see if the chassis rail got chipped, and apart from the wishbone bolts going in the wrong way round (I think??) which would mean they'd have to be cut out the next time, I don't remember any big criticism of the chassis refit. But the engine wasn't touched, it has 60k miles on it and the interior is a bland grey. They've had it about 6 months and not budged on price so Fernhurst seem determined to get over £20k for it.

Mines got the EW turbo kit with intercooler and is at 326bhp and 363 lb ft which is not bad for a 400 Chim but I still want a Cerb....really want one....really really really want one
Mine needs to be sold first though and it could do with new outriggers at some point which may put some people off. I'm toying with getting them done or just do a total body off maybe, trouble is the more I spend on it the less I can justify selling it as I've already spent big. I think I'd get a swift kick in the nuts from my wife if I suggested having both.jr6yam said:

I have complete distrust of projects done for entertainment, for the camera and to a limited timescale and budget; the likes of Changing Rooms, DIY SOS, Orange County Choppers, Wheeler Dealers etc etc etc. You only see want they want you to see, corners are cut and dirt is (quite literally) swept under the carpet. The presenters are not professional tradesmen, they are showmen. It makes 'good telly'.
Projects worth doing are worth doing properly with no time nor money constraints following the tripartite principle of 'Fast? Good? Cheap?; pick any two'. These programmes devalue the subject and also, lets not kid ourselves, cause domestics along the lines of, "Nick Knowles decorated that room in under two hours, what's taking YOU so long?" and, "Ed China RESTORED (heavy sarcasm intended) that car in a fortnight, have you got another woman with you in that garage?". It also devalues the finished item in a true sense by making it all look so easy and quick, but of course it's all edited to death.
A professional inspection is advisable with any major purchase regardless of what the ad states, or the camera has shown (or not shown). Maybe there have been interested potential buyers that aren't interested any more due to those (or indeed their own initial) inspections? JMHO of course, but I wouldn't consider it at anywhere near that price,

I watched the show and don't see the issue. It was time condensed, who knows how long it actually took, and how many man hours involved. If I was in the market, I see no reason not to look at this with a new chassis at the money. Engine could be good for another 130k going by a chap on here's AJP..
I wonder if the well documented 8k bought and 14k sold for price makes any difference?
It obviously hasn't sold for a reason but IMO it will be different reasons for different people, I don't love the colour combination particularly, for some its price, mileage or whatever, but as said at least the chassis has had a major overhaul in recent times and its somewhat of a known quantity.
I agree actually that its maybe a tad too much and I've not seen the condition first hand either, but IMHO there does seem to be an expectation from many that the tripartite mentioned above is not 2 of the 3 but all 3 when purchasing.
Maybe Fernhurst expected it to go quickly due to being on WD's....I'd admit I thought it would go quick as well.
