headlight surround falling off

Dear fonts of all knowledge, took my cerb out the other day, it has the old style headlight formation out for a drive, when I returned the insert around headlight was sitting proud and looking like it was coming away, I am not sure how they fix on or what I should do, I resisted the urge to pull it off thinking I would do more damage but clearly it needs refitting.

I can send pics if needed but any help/advice would be gratefully received.

Some are just stuck on with Tiger Seal, some are bolted to the wing. Get the access panel off in the wheel arch and see if you can see any bolts protruding down. If there's no bolts remove it carefully with a Stanley knife to cut the sealant away and remount it.

thanks for the advice it was spot on there were bolts and fixings but they had come away and someone had just tiger sealed it back on, I did however re fit the fixing and bolted up with the wing nuts and washers still on the lugs, its a pain to get to but its on good and proper thanks
