Does anyone know what's happening with the Tuscan challenge track cars, are they still factory fitted with the AJP8 at the moment? or have any rule changes happened in this category maybe towards using Speed 6 engines for example?
Surely if they are still using the AJP8 it should keep the spares manufacturers tooled up for the time being.

God knows about the tvr challenge cars... bang a post over in the TVR racing forum... or better yet, call up one of the teams and see what they say.

Theres always support for any engine... many companies which you can utilise to build new rods/pistons/cranks/cams, block and head work etc etc etc.... its a just a tonne load of pieces of metal... all the ancillaries can be replaced using ford/bmw/yank parts... not an issue at all...

If you love your car, you will always find a way of keeping her on the road and keep your costs down too... engineering firms are all over the place.... everyone can look after you... the only thing thats a blob is the MBE unit, its an old unit... but if it gives up the ghost... might be a good time to just switch over to Emerald, Motec etc...

Chassis wise, people like Richard Thorpe in Sheffield can look after you, complete chassis restoration services, rebuilds etc., and the TVR Bodyshop, can look after you in the body department, paint matching etc etc....

The only thing I dont know of is the windscreen and rearscreen... the side windows can easily be templated by many companies, even in lexan if you want to avoid breakages in the future....

Exhaust systems, headers, cats, brakes, clutches, gearboxes, differentials, shocks, alternators, starter motors - these are all 3rd party products, and you can easily change to different brands with a bit of thought....

The Cerbera is a supercar, she aint no ford escort, so like always, it is a costly venture, but I cant see it being any more costly than like it is with TVR's support.... the likes of Joospeed are always out there to help out in all departments...
many racing firms exist, which can take whole projects on to rebuild your car to spec....

In my eyes, finally, I dont see the Cerbera being in lack of support of anything.... the only bit which I see could be pricey, is if your block blows - you'd be better off getting a different engine thrown in... or invest in getting an american firm to engineer a very strong block for you....

I know, I know, $$$ - but the question is about the future of AJP8 parts - and there is always going to be a future.

MCD (the designers of the AJP8 engine) are always on hand to supply new parts too if you need, although their prices are not cheap.

The 6 has never been used in Tuscan racers, only the Rover and AJP V8s.
