Heating up nicely - too Bloody much!!!!
Discussion
Only a week ago I posted a question regarding the running temperature of my Cerbie.
Ironic isn't it? Friday night having had an nice drive out, I found myself sitting in a car that was running hot, very hot! I was on fire! 5 Minutes later and a need for a change of underwear, I was watching my baby burn. 15 mins later it was all over....she was dead. It is now sitting on my drive and not only looks sad but smells like hell.
7 weeks ago I purchased this car and I have spent hours cleaning, polishing, bragging and drooling over it (oh, I have driven it as well).
My first thoughts are split fuel line in engine compartment not that you can recognise anything now.
Anybody got any sympathy....please? I have some disturbing pictures but I don't know how to attach them to this forum.
BooHoo.

oh, mate. I'm so so sorry for you. can she be repaired?
go and have a break, draw the curtains if it means you cant see the car outside. cup of tea, comfiest clothes, favorite film. possibly even a small sleep on the sofa. sounds like you've earned it mate.
hope it all gets resolved as quickly and painlessly as possible for you.
best wishes,
nerv.

She is well and truly dead. Never to be resurrected! Insurance company are going to love me.
Does anyone know how insurance companies value these cars. I got it at a good price 7 weeks ago but I believe she is worth about £2k more.
The rear running gear, st,steel exhaust, and other bits and pieces may be salvageable. Is it worth buying back off insurance company...is there a market for these parts?

If the car is burnt then it will most likely be a cat A write off, I seem to remember.
This means you will not be able to put anything off of that car on another road car.
Sorry to hear about this. I do worry sometimes about the heat that the car gives off. I remember being in a traffic jam in August last year and although the fans were doing a good job of keeping the water temperature down you could feel the heat coming off the engine, and see it in the haze over the bonnet.
From my experience with insurance payments do not accept the first offer. Always hold on and get some prices together. Get a letter from a dealer saying how much these cars are and how difficult it would be to find one in that sort of condition.
Good luck and dont let this put you off Cerberas. I now only know of 2 Cerb's that have gone up in smoke.
