Nothing sad about it at all - they're not a car you easily forget and for most people the memories are good, whatever they move on to.

You must have sold your Cerb in good order, otherwise you'd risk some abuse asking what happened next...

Which begs the question - why did you sell?

I have DB9 Volante and it got to a stage I never used her.
I didn’t want her just sitting there, but when I did go out I alway came home with a big smile on my face.

Didn’t Amore Autos sell it? Couldn’t you ask them where it went? Hopefully to a good home.

Hi Ian - yes, we bought the Cerb last summer (was my 'old' car if you remember).

We replaced the clutch, new front cover seal/other bits (engine out job all done by Dom at Power) followed by rehanging/shaping doors and a respray.

The car sold at the end of last year - hope you're enjoying the DB9...or can we tempt you back to a TVR?

Regards, Paul.

The DVLA are only supposed to divulge such details in special circumstances such as:
- the vehicle has been abandoned on your land and you need to trace the owner.
-the vehicle has been abandoned and the land owner had given your business permission to move it
- there has been some incident involving the vehicle where police intervention is not required.

Unlawful acquisition of the detaiils of a registered keeper is a criminal offence and in most cases such as those mentioned above, evidence is required to support the request.

From my own experience, even when you have a genuine case, it is very difficult.

Form 666, you only have to give a good reason. I've done it once when hunting down an old car, your name is on the ownership record so that's a valid reason.
I've also done it this year to get the details of someone who knocked me off my motorbike.

On the two occasions I have wanted to do it they have supplied details.
The first time as I wanted to find out the history of a car I had just bought and the second time to find out who drove into my parked car. (reg no. of other car from CCTV).

If they sell your details to dodgy parking companies then they are not too worried about legit reasons. Any excuse to fleace you for £2.50 really; it used to be a free service.

Hi Ian, I bought H11 TVR a couple of months back.

Nice to see it's been cared for by you for so long and you are still interested in keeping up with it. It's found a good home, I was looking for a 4 seater toy and had always promised myself an Aston (same as you) but after seeing the TVR I drove past 2x DB9's and an AMV8 on the way home. The last Cerb i saw on the road was about 3 years ago = mind made up!

I can see why you are still thinking about it, responsive, hell hound angry and its addictive how everything 'tingles' at full chat - other sports car manufacturers waste millions reducing NVH like its a bad thing! I'm used to V8's dying off at 5,500rpm where the AJP is just getting into its stride so it'll take me a while to get used to that but it's fitting into the family well, I can't get my daughters out of it - they both love and are terrified in equal measure (even though i only pootle about with them on board) so it'll probably be a keeper.

The guys at Amore spent a lot of cash on it so its in good shape, I wanted to buy a 'known' vehicle and it was reassuring that it was Paul's old car. I have just replaced the brake master and servo after a foot to the floor incident (luckily it happened on my driveway), a ball ache of a job but we're better acquainted as a result. Plenty more tinker time to come, the induction needs a bit of TLC and it could do with a tune and I need to man up and get started with the POR15... maybe i'll save that for winter.

I'm in West Oxfordshire if you are up this way let me know.
