I’m not a huge fan of TVR engine conversions, but this is out there, a bit like a TVR should be!

TVR .... Maserati

What a sound!

9.8/10 for originality.

That sounds absolutely incredible. It somehow manages to have the crossplane warble with a flatplane undertone.

Yeah definitely gives it that slightly exotic sound it deserves.

That makes a lot of sense - there are very few things which sound as good as a TVR, and a Maserati is definitely one of them.

Very tasty. Difficult to make out on my phone, where is it?

It looks like a dog threw up all over a Cerb, and someone stuck some wagon wheels on it..

However, the engine makes nice noises! Not sure how much benefit there is for the cost/complexity compared to a good AJP but it is different and quirky.

It’s a polish bloke. Lots of photos on Facebook. Lots of work done to it including chassis.

Ha ha ha how to make AJP parts seem very reasonable, my past experience with buying Maserati engine parts still makes me break out in a cold sweat..

And which parts are so much more expensive if I may ask?

With an engine that sound like nothing else, and will have much easier life in a car that weights 1.2t then in a car with weight of almost 1.9t

Giorgio the Trident is yours isn’t it?

How long did it take you start to finish.

Hard to say, I did have only 5-6 days every month to work on it, and at the same time I've done full body of restoration with every nut bolt, brake, fuel lines, brakes, heat shields basically everything under body is new except for chassis and uprights, interior retrimmed and full respray.
Together with testing and braking parts and a 5 months brake to relive frustration : 3 years

If you get time perhaps you could add more details as I think this is one of the most interesting TVR conversions yet. Chevy LS and the ford crate Range are dropped in everything, but this is awesome.

What made you choose the Maserati unit, how did you get hold of of one of these engines! Did you consider any other engines. Which engine management system are you using.

And well done for breaking the mold and doing something really interesting the car deserves!

That looks amazing

Having invested all that time and effort, surely it has to be worth making up a Speed Six style air scoop to keep induction temps down

Is it the 4.2 dry sumped V8 or the later wet sump 4.7? My dad built an ultima using the former but he's also been working on a hybrid of the two which makes a dry sumped 4.7

Edit just seen the specs thumbup I'll get some pics of the dry sump throttle bodied 4.7 my old man's built. Not sure what the plan is with it at the moment, he keeps looking at other cars to put it in but I'd be tempted to run the ultima as it is for a while then do a swap.

What engine management are you running Giorgio?
