heres an interesting one, tried the cd player the other day, its the standard pioneer one. CD's in the changer in the boot, it makes all the noises, see it taking the discs, etc,etc

press the green source button (is this the right one), and... nothing! hold it down longer and it turns off! arghhh!!

am i doing something wrong?

I think, without going and trying, you use that on/off button to cycle between radio/cd/on/off.

Im replacing that unit anyway, will prob go get a new one this afternoon.

Anyone know how difficult it is to replace? How do you get it out?

Have you the manual. If not, download it from Pioneer site.

www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/body.jsp

Has the plug come out of the back that goes to the changer? Do you have to tell the unit that its using the changer?

If you press the source button, and there is no CD in, it will not go on to CD. If you press the button 4 a few seconds, it will switch off. I think the fault lies with either of my originak qestions.
