ANyone know where to get a pair of 'cats' for me Cerb 2001. I have found my missing BHP me thinks. The cats have been rattling around and smashed themselves up and are now almost a total blockage! Don't want to go 'decat' as I value my eardrums..

I think it was about £450 for a pair from them.

If you have a standard exhaust then a decat wont be any louder except when you floor it and when you take your foot off the gas ie bang with flames.
Personally I would go decat and then keep cats for MOT time (that way you dont destroy another set).

I was also being light hearted, I guess if you had serviced it for me then my 'cats ' would be OK then?

It is a good point though from Joolz who clearly knows his onions - there are two risks (IMHO) to self servicing 1) resale value could be hit by more cost than it would have cost to get the basic servicing done by a garage (and do the non book stamp stuff yourself) ie I would value a self serviced car to be £2 - £5K lower depending on age.
and 2) you risk big engine problems if you dont have the knowledge to find problems before they manifest into something worse.

Yes I agree; would it have saved my 'cats' though or would it have just cost me lots of money to have someone else tell me my 'cats' were knackerd?
As much as I respect the almighty God (oops small 'g') god of Cerbera Jools. (I'm sure he knows his stuff).
Half the fun of owning a TVR is being able to get the spanners out now and again.
I have had three TVRs and seviced them all myself apart from one trip to a main dealer..... never again.
And what qualifies someone to survice a TVR??? I do have some mechancial backround, running a motorcycle bussiness for 17 years and winning 2 national drag bike championships, infact come to think of it my bike (1400cc) was more powerful than most TVRs all built by yours trully.(If you want a job done properly and all that....)
