Windscreen replacement in Essex

I have heard of horror story, of damage to leather trim etc, with an a fitter who was not familiar with fitting a windscreen to a Cerbera...
If your claiming on the insurance, I would recommend that a main dealer, such as Castle TVR carryout the work. They will have undoubtably done this before, and know the pitfalls...

I have already taken loads of pictures, just to be sure of a proper job. Castles do not fit windscreens anymore, due to problems in the past. They did give me the number of a guy, Jays Windscreens, but he said no he couldnt do it.
Its back with the insurance company now, but if I can find somene then I will get it done.

Not sure if it's true, but I've heard that fitters often end up breaking the carbon fibre trim on the A posts as it is difficult to remove in one piece. I also heard that you cannot get easily get replacement carbon bits and end up having to get the newer painted parts instead. I considered changing my windscreen because of the delamination and stone chips, but never bothered in the end as I didn't want to lose the carbon fibre bits which I actually prefer.

I know the sorts of problems I could have after this. I have taken loads of pictures, ready for a fight at the end. As my car is an early one it has the black painted covers over the A posts, so I cant really see a problem.
Just need to wait and see who the insurance company come up with.

Cheers guys, it really needs to be a insurance approved place, which Phill isnt, not with my insurance company anyway.
If I did take it to him I would have to pay then claim of of my insurance.
The insurance company have now found someone to do it, but TVR are saying the screen is now NLA!

Point the fitter towards this bloke.... He got my S2 windscreen (XXX) when everyone else said not available.
The price might not be as listed but not far off.
As a side note my windscreen was about £160, fitting by RAC about £60... Total cost £220.... However I have others ghave charged upto £450.... No wonder insurance premiums are high
