Hi Team,

Just found that some deviant has attempted to gain ingress to my baby and
torn the exterior rubber cover off the driver's door mirror button cover in the process.

Does anyone know if and where a new rubber can be purchased from ??

Ta !

PJ

I've not got them on mine, had no problems for the last ten years since I swapped the switches out for ones from RS components

Hi Dave,

It’s true that I do believe in lightening the car to improve its performance
BUT
Given the probs that other owners have experienced with various door functions,
I didn’t want to raise the chance of a future long-way-from-home failure banghead

My last order from TVR-Parts just arrived three days ago.
Five days delivery time to Germany, shipping cost were about 11 GBP, paid via paypal. Was my fourth or fifth order so far - never had any problem.

All the time. Shocking weather going to classic spa last year, and the weather this week hasn't been great as I run the engine in.

If you have the button switches from rs components, they seem to be weather resistant. I have more issues with the connectors inside the door.

The RS ones all seem to be IP55 or better which ought to be fine unless you are directly jet washing them.

I don't suppose anyone has replaced them with backlit buttons?

No, why would you. They are quite hidden, don't use any power, there's no way to light them up when the car is unlocked

Yup the RS ones are IP67, able to be submerged for 30 mins. I replaced both mine just after I got the car 12 years ago, still going fine.

I suppose they could be made to illuminate on the 'unlock' command from the plip, like a feeble version of a puddle light, to guide you on to the next step of the entry procedure...
But that would remove some of the mystery.

No the interior ones are lit when the headlights are on.
Standard on mine are green. I have red ones to replace them with but it meant dismantling the door and I didn't fancy it.
