I need to hardwire in a dashca, where's the best 12v ignition source? It'll be placed up behind the rear view mirror.

I noticed the power/cigar socket is permanent 12v.

These are really handy for hardwiring to the fuse box. Just piggy back of a fuse that is live with ignition like your stereo.

Yeah but the fusebox is in the boot and is a real pain to run wires to.

Use the wiring for the radio - thats what mine is powered from. You have a live feed from ignition, a permanent live and earth to make your choice from.

I used the switched feed from behind the radio.

Thanks for the replies. I assume you just use an in line fuse then? Should save running back to fuse board.

Out of interest is it easier to wire left or right side A pillar?

I used the interior light and tucked the 12v to 5v usb into the roll bar. Just untuck it when I want to plug in.

I have a Koonlung K1S system

So the cameras fit front and rear and the recording unit sits in the centre cubby, I ran the cable along and down the passenger side because it's easier to get underneath the dash that way.
