Any guidance on changing the internal emergency door release cable from anyone who has done this before. It is on the driver's side, the red 'T' handle in the sill has broken off my one, although the cable is still connected at the door end.

Is it possible to disconnect the cable at the door latch end, pull the inner cable through and thread the replacement inner all the way back through, or is it too convoluted for that? I have a complete cable and cover, but I would rather get it fixed sooner and quickly.

Thanks

Definitely recommend replacing the whole thing

Chances are that the handle snapped because of corrosion anyway

The most difficult part is removing, or rather moving slightly out of the way, the trim that hides the lock mechanism

Also make sure you check everything carefully before putting the trim back because I found that there's a 'child safety catch' lever that you could accidently move

As it happens i have been adjusting the passenger side one today, this was to solve an issue after I replaced the door lock earlier in the year. I don't want to say its tight but i had to do an endoscope survey to work out how to get at it all.
Door seal off at bottom rear edge
Gently pull bottom of the trim around the seat belt (elsewhere on here is says the trim can be completely removed but mine is attached behind the rear seat and definitely doesn't come out)
Peel off the top edge of the triangle of carpet under the door seal at the rear edge
Undo screw clip and bowden cable end of cable. It helps if you have double jointed arms and eyes on the ends of your fingers
You may find it easier to remove the three screws holding the door lock and its mounting plate to the b-post. It will then drop down and allow much better access to the cable ends, its easy to replace.
Refitting is the reversal of removal and the skin will eventually grow back on your knuckles.
