Hi, not used the car for a couple of weeks 98 4.2 started, moved it came back to go out click from starter nowt else i shut the door cos its now raining, first mistake, how do i get in. the bonnet is open battery reading 12.83 volts Help

As you’ve got access to the battery you can just put some jump leads on it or a booster pack if you’ve got one. There will then be enough power to open the door and start.

Having said that if your battery is reading 12.8v it might not be the issue.

Might be worth checking the battery is earthed ok.

Tried to jump start still nothing voltage now is 10.68v sure its the battery now. what is the secret way to get in as i have a nice warm garage to work in its in gear so cannot push?

Since you have access to the battery, simply disconnect and reconnect to reset the alarm/immobiliser then gain entry as normal

The system is quite lenient on voltage so even with a compromised battery you will probably still be able to unlock boot and open doors

New battery fixed ta for all the help i did try disconnect nothing happend battery was really knackerd.
