Hi all,

By coincidence I noted the doors doesn't lock when the alarm is armed. The alarm do work, so if a door is open the alarm start.

How can I get the doors to lock?

Mine does this at the moment as well , I’ve been told by Andy at APM that my control box in the boot needs to be sent off

I went over all the wiring diagrams when I had to fix my door latch issue, and I agree, it's likely the control box (door lock ECU), but you should also check the Alarm output.

The control box actually implements the locking and unlocking state - the door switches send a signal (by closing contacts) to the door ECU which then activates the door solenoid (or not) depending upon the status of the alarm.

Check the wire from the alarm (pin B3 on the J45 connector on the ECU) - stick a multimeter probe into the B3 part of the connector with the other probe in A1 of the J46 connector. As you toggle the alarm on and off, you should see the voltage change across these two pins.

If it doesn't change, then it's the alarm.
If it does change, then it's the ECU.

Good luck!

Hi thanks for the reply from both if you.

@Paul, what do you mean by "sent off". Is that unplug - replug or replace unit?

IF it’s the door control unit that is faulty (and not the alarm), then you unplug the unit (remove the 4 electrical plugs) and you send the unit to London for repair.

Another way to test whether the alarm is at fault or not, is to sit in the car with the drivers side window wound down. Press the door lock switch on the centre console in front of the gear shift. Reach out and try and open the door from the button under the wing mirror - if it opens, then the door control unit is faulty. If it doesn’t open, then the alarm is at fault.

Its quite easy to get the door controller and the alarm out of sequence with each other. The fix is to open all doors and boot, disconnect battery count to ten then reconnect
