After owning 3 x Chimaeras over the years, I've seen the light / gone over to the dark side [delete as preferred
].
The last owner looked after it extremely well for over 8 yrs but I'd be interested if any PH users can add anything from its early years. It's had several reg numbers over the year according to the HPI report, R8 DHC (March 1998 - July 1998), R145 XHY (July '98 - Sept '98) and R4 SVB (Sept '98 - 2010).
The original Fiesta rear lamps have been replaced with the later ones at some point, which I don't mind. Front lamps are original and NOT rusty!

Doing a LOT of reading about the Cerbera 4.5, both before and after purchase.

Weird so many numberplate changes?
I have to plead guilty to having the odd 'personalised' plate but not on this car yet.

It isn't that many changes really, its the way it works. It had the first reg R8 DHC from new until the car was 4 months old. The first owner undoubtedly took the plate with him when selling the car and DVLA issued another R reg plate. The next owner than had R4 SVB put on it in Sept 1998, which was on the car for over 12 years. I suppose it said 4.5 V8 at a push?
Throbbing is right! It has sports silencers instead of the single big back box. Loud but not TOO loud. Still has cats fitted, which I'm happy with, its loud enough. Getting used to the engine noise on cold start-up which can be a little disconcerting. But it goes as the engine warms up.
Watertight too.
Every Chimaera I've had has had a leak from somewhere, and never the hood itself (door seals, bulkhead, windscreen trim, door seals etc.). Seems a slightly better built car to me.
At about £50k new in 1998, it should be! (Full leather and working air con)

Hi Ian
Welcome to The Madhouse
Looks like a classic, well done young Paduan.
(FWIW Here's a brief history of the Cerb on the RHS of this FaceBook page.)

Look at getting the cats out. They pump heat into the tunnel, cabin, gearbox and clutch.
30 mins work to put them back in for the mot, and another 30 to take them out again...
It doesn't get as hot as my Chimaera inside, the air con sees to that, working at the moment anyway. Already had to re-glue the roof interior centre trim piece. Dropped a bit on a bumpy section of road. 30 mins work to put them back in for the mot, and another 30 to take them out again...
And the boot lamp isn't working. No power so I suspect the boot switch. Rubber grommets for the bonnet lock pins on the way, and fitted a set of Chrysler locking wheel nuts at a princely £6.93.Last chap tried it without cats, he said the smell and noise was too much and refitted them. It's loud enough I think with the sports rear silencers! It's already had one of Jools' Whirlwind kits fitted.

Welcome to the Mad World of Cerbera ownership!...as mentioned above remove the cats ,reasons are twofold ,the heat they create in the cabin especially in summer is huge but more importantly their close proximity to the bellhousing helps destroy the clutch slave cylinder seals with the heat which is a gearbox off job to replace.
P.S.....i'm the 4th owner of my Cerb and each owner has had their own plate on it !...so its had 4 different plates on it...i'm the longest at nearly 13 years 😁

It took me 10 years of leak chasing to get my AC working, so thats good yours is working. It's not much in the summer in traffic, but on a cerbera you don't take the roof off, you just lower the windows and take the sides off

If it smelt they weren't fitted properly!
Noise isn't that bad..
