Speed Sensor GAP ?

hi all
Speedo ain't working, got under car today and measured clearance as 10 thou, thought it should be bigger.
Can anyone confirm what the setting dimension should be ?
Maybe i should just replace it anyway ?
Is it a TVR dearler only sourced part ?

The speed sensor is a hall effect tranducer. The closer you can make it without touching the better. There is no 'too close' limit.

But are you sure its the sensor. Quick check with an oscilloscope if you have one will prove it.
