How about a thread where we can have some light hearted banter without fear of aggression or technical debates?
Anyone got a cerbera related topic that can put a smile on our faces?
I took my Le Mans co-pilot out for a spin on Sunday. He doesnt drive fast cars but until recently used to ride reasonably powerful motor bikes. His knees were a little wobbly after just one foot down episode on a long straight. Think he is slightly worried now about the 400 mile drive to Le Mans!
He was telling me I was mad to buy another TVR. Buy a 911 he kept telling me. He is a head mechanic at an independent Land Rover garage and so he knows his oily bits. He was seriously impressed with the Cerbera - not just the speed but also the lack of squeaks and rattles etc.... Think he is a convert.

The best one I had is when I took my dad for a first drive in mine. He has always been into fast motors and probably got me hooked. He had just been looking for a new car and recently had the new M3 and Audi S4 for a couple of weeks to make his mind up. (he gets to play with cars as one of his jobs is to buy all the fleet motors for his company). Anyway after been for a spin his words were along the line of ("F*cking hell, I thought that M3 was fast, but this is bloody crazy"
He also had trouble standing when he got out 
I also took one of my best mates out the other weekend and a very similar result. A lot of "ffffffff
kkkkks" when we accelerated and the words "it just keeps pulling!" him, "What did we get up to there, about $$$?" me, "add 40 to that!"

Yep, and me. After clutch failure and bell housing failure, the exhaust fell off and now I have a terminal ignition controller failure.
In remember my first drive in a cerbera .. what crock i thought back then .. no-one would surely place an order after having driven one.

Isn't it called been British I know these cars do go wrong, and I have been quite lucky. But you do kind of know what you are getting into when you buy it, and if you get that fed up sell it. There has to be something though that makes you put up with it!
When I drive it I get the biggest feel good factor you could get in a car (well I could enhance it further but I think that would be difficult over the transmission tunnel!)
I know these cars do go wrong, and I have been quite lucky. But you do kind of know what you are getting into when you buy it, and if you get that fed up sell it. There has to be something though that makes you put up with it! I always find that the Cerb has the unique ability to make passangers go very quiet and have trouble when getting out of the car. (Weak Knees)

Well now the starter has gone too (a new one put in only a month ago).
All is forgiven when you get the chance to open it up on a clear road but whle it is languishing in a garage with bits hanging off it there's nowt to be cheery about!

We took it on the Surrey Fish and Chip Run to the south coast at the weekend and it was brilliant. I did develop a pain in my neck from map reading and couldn't understand why. When I spoke to a Sue (a Le Mans Classic Driver no less) she said I must be fighting G-force so "just relax".
I loved the Chim but this is amazing!.

Well if its any consolation I just got mine back from a local mechanic who replaced the slave cylinder (did it anyway, just in case old one was scored).
He did it in 4 hours total and charged 180. Didn't have to take the bellhousing off.
The old seals had all but dissolved, possibly someone at some stage used the wrong fluid. I have to get the master seals done now, but thats a cheaper job.

I was fortunate to drive a 911 Turbo S yesterday. Very impressive performance and handling, but severely lacking in character. Bit like a VW Golf
I'd like one in my fantasy fleet but driving home in the Cerbera brought it home just how unique and special the Cerbie is.

1. The patient refused autopsy.

3. Patient has left white blood cells at another hospital.
4. Patient's medical history has been remarkably insignificant with
only a 40 pound weight gain in the past three days.
5. She has no rigors or shaking chills, but her husband states she
was very hot in bed last night.
6. Patient has chest pain if she lies on her left side for over a
year.
7. On the second day the knee was better and on the third day it
disappeared.
8. The patient is tearful and crying constantly. She also appears to
be depressed.
