expence do'nt matter just want to go with the flow
Sorry didnt mention, the PlusR is specifically designed for dry-sumped high vacuum tight ring sealed configs, 600bp+ setups mostly. It would not do a wetsump setup any good. Silkoline is superb in that area, I'd recommend 15-50w.

anybody used 5w 40.Any banter will help .It must be the the north wales thing.
Yep using it in my modified Jag S-type R . Used to run Jag's recomended oil Mobil FE Special but that was degrading v quickly. Slightly smoky exhaust and about 1000 miles per litre consumed at the latter end of the service interval. Silkolene 5w 40 seems just the right thing - no apparent degredation at 3.5k miles and nil consumption. I'll change it at 5k miles though cos I'm picky ....
Cheers
The Silkolene synthetic is "ester" based so it is superior to Mobil 1 in that it doesn't degrade as quickly. I spend a lot of money with Mobil/Exxon (through work) and even their Rep agrees that the Silkolene is superior, however, that doesn't mean that the Mobil isn't a good quality oil.
