hiya gang ,

>boring question mode enabled<

has anyone with a speed 6 (or know of anyone) thats changed their back box for a sports zorst or carbon cans or summat? id like something a little fruitier on mine, but a search is coming up short, cos, you know, most of you are all wellard, and I'm but a mere slip of a girl .

Ive already had all the wadding removed from my standard backbox and that sounds better but I'm wondering if theres another way to go? (bearing in mind that removing the cats apparently is bad for power on my engine). what about if i remove the two very small in line silencers that sit between the cats and the back box? Anybody done that?

any suggestions would be gratefully received. i hope this post finds you well on this sunshiney morning

lets just assume for the purpose of this thread that the 'thats cos the engine always goes bang before you can get as far as the back end' jokes have all been done already

I admire those who march to the beat of a differnt drum (as long as they do it well away from me of course )

Both Admiral and Kevin63 could be your new friends.

They way things are going, 4.2 V8s are becoming the poor cousin too, as all the 4.5 boys work themselves into a frenzy over carbon fiber gee-gaws for their rides.

ACT? I think Joos exhausts were JP ones, which ACT also sell. Tim's been very helpful when I've bought bits from him.

Modded exhausts on the Speed 6 can sound really good. I've heard a Tuscan and a T350 with close to straight through pipes and they sounded really good from the outside. I'd love to hear them from the cockpit!

Go for it my son. It is the law that all Cerb owners should suffer early deafness symptoms

nervous,

After 4 years of ownership, I have finally booked my SP6 in with Castles for some sports pipes. Don't know what they use - perhaps I should ask?

I will certainly be happy to phone you up on my mobile after I have this done and I can rev the bollox of it for you.

I had the cats taken out for a while. It certainly improved the note - more pops and bangs. I put them back as it was proving a pain at MOT time and the exhaust note now is definitely too quiet.

thanks admiral, top man.

Ive just had a chat with the ever excellent Tim, and hes sending me some straight out!!! yay!! tell you what, you call me and ill call you and well see whose sounds the coolest (it'll be me for sure ).

Thanks Tim, you're the best (you can use that on the feedback section of your website if you like ). Cant wait to see what they're like, thanks for all your help (and putting up with my pointless, stupid questions)

I'm interested to hear you took out the cats Ad, everyone says it causes a major drop in power, did you find that? also, when i looked, it seemed like it would be a major pain in the ass to get the cats out. have you tried dropping the little cherry bomb things too? :wants to be deaf:

thanks again mate, let me know how you go

If I remember correctly, JP exhausts are used by the majority of TVR suppliers. I have some going the Cerb this week. Look out Petworth, I'm heading your way

Petworth is on the route of my personal race track ! I live in Chiddingfold just off the main green. Often blast down there and utilise the high walls for exhaust popping testing. the residents really like it - they all wave at me (fingers not hands).
