A week ago I found that my recent Varta battery was empty. The car did not react at all. I recharged it and aftyer that the car started do act strange. The hazard lights started to go on. The doors still opened. When I tried to start the car I could switch the ignition on. I do not know if it reacted to the keyfob, but when i tried to start it did not do anything. One time it tried to turn the starter motor, but i only heard some electronic noise off and on. The doors started to act strange. The drivers door was the first not to react anymore. I was inside the car! Luckily my cable worked. There is a little push button on the transmission tunnel and this was flickering all the time.

So i got out. Charged the battery again and left it for the week under a outdoor carcover. Sadly for the Cerbera it had to stay outside this winter under this carcover.

This weekend I wanted to haver a quick look if I could find something. Battery was empty again. About 9 volts. Nothig reacted. I thought that it might have something to do with the mirror button on the driver's side. I replaced the button last year an soldiered it to the wires. Today the car did not react at all anymore. The little led in the rear window does flash, but that is it.

Where should i start to look?

The engine will turn over quite happily even though there is insufficient voltage for the ECU to open the injectors

That can be quite confusing but it will never fire when the injectors stay closed

But....nothing turns at all.

At this moment the doors won't even open. the only thing that works is the little red led light in the rear window which is from the alarm/door locks.

New battery surely? I am sure i have had this before, charged battery all ok but it was something to do with the cells. New battery sorted it. Sure it was on a van iirc.

I just put an new Optima Red top battery in my 4.5 Cerbera after messing about with cheaper ones. The Cerbera likes a good strong battery so I would start here. It sounds like you need a new battery anyway.

Low battery voltage gas caused the alarm to act in a unknown manner and that is causing central locking problems
Check to see if there is something draining the battery (could be an alarm fault) and get the battery tested

I connected the battery of my Marcos to it. It had 12 Volts, but the car was still dead.

If you're troubleshooting electrical problems, buy a cheap multimeter so you cna actually measure things.

I'd agree with others, battery is probably dead, probably still dragging things down even with another battery on boosters, a multimeter on the cerbera battery will reveal all.

Also make sure the little key in the dash is switched on, i can't remember what it does but I rmemeebr it messes with electrics if it's ever switched off!

But yours sounds like a duff battery!

Did you remove the battery to charge it, or leave it in situ ?

Also, as an aside, you mentioned the alarm led working. Is anything else none ignition related, working ? Like the clock, interior lights etc ?

Sounds like the battery is knackered.

Did you just connect it with the original battery connected also? If so that'll drain the power.
Everything points to a knackered battery. I have the same when a cell or two on mine failed.

Well worth a check of all the fuses. Fuse 7 blowing can cause some weird problems.

My battery showed 14.5 volts and then with the lights turned on 12.8 volts but it still didn't have enough power to turn the starter over. It is the cranking power that fails in the battery. It might show it is charged but it cant produce enough power when you press the start button.
