Rollcage for roadgoing Cerbera ?
Discussion
Unfortunately I have to put something in to meet competition regs so the built in hoop doesn't count.
The event at pod was a drift day not drag, great fun if you have a set of tyres to say goodbye to.

In the French TVR Car Club, we have a member who has modified his Cerbera to participate to official championships.
He had to remove the original roll cage to fit a certified one instead (plus the fire extinguisher, certified bucket seats, battery cut off...).
If you want more information I guess he will be happy to share about this project even if you don't speak french :-).

ian try andy at APM, when he looked after my cerb he had a couple of race cars with cages that he got fitted so i am sure someone smart could work out a half cage. i suspect the challenge will be stripping out the trim, removing the existing roll hoop etc and reproviding a new half cage, then a retrim over those areas affected because the new tube will be bigger.

Jes, yes that would be possible but almost certainly too expensive and too complicated. I suspect my financial manager will point out that I could buy a perfectly serviceable MX5 for under £5k and be on track next week.
Indeed! Or perhaps a series 1 Porsche Boxster (although I dont know if I could live with myself)?GT6k said:

Ian you are not wrong, probably get a prepared one for a bit less than that. One small problem though will be frustration at how long it takes to get form one corner to another as i found out with my daughters MX5 - compared to a cerb they don't really accelerate - not at at all - i mean not even down a hill - even a steep one - with a strong following wind Very sorry to hear about the road going class change, Motorsport UK can’t be lobbied for a reversal to previous category? So now you can’t sprint or hillclimb a Cerbera without ROPS?
Ian, I know of a sorted Turbo MX5 Mk1 that’ll be on your budget-

Oh Jes, my MX5 that apparently doesn’t accelerate beat your Griff at Abingdon last year.... See you at Gurston!
