If someone said they could give you an extra 150bhp for 3k, just leave your car with them for 2 weeks, would you want it? The upgrade would be warranted for 10,000miles.

Just trying to get an idea of how enthusiastic cerbie owners are

No - even the extra 30 or 40 from a chip shop is arguably too much for me. The day that I can handle all the current power in all situations then I might consider a bit more power (although I still find I ignore my sensible side and feel draw towards pub talk power needs). But 3K is more than I can justify when I could buy 50% of a track car for that money.

Its the same deal mate, 6k for 300+bhp, 3k for 150bhp, go on you know you want to!
I would too if I had 3k.
Do tell more Ash.

I think it depends on what the modification is, how it affects power delivery, any environmental consequences (eg having to sit with Cerbera outside house for 2 minutes in middle of night with engine running which would piss off the neighbours), fuel consumption (i'm sure a drop of 1 or 2mpg is fine tho), requirement to keep filling up with extra special bottles (ie Nos)...

I would guess if Ash is involved it won't be as simple as a bottle of Nos! probaby a fair amount of engine rework from 'his' engineers If I get to keep the car I may well be interested as you don't have to hold your foot to the floor all the time and once you get past the tonne, that extra power can be used!

Ash, have you been doing any aero dynamic stuff with your car, as once the cerb get up to 140+ I think the aero dynamics let the car down a lot as it starts feeling twitchy and not that well planted, when you hit the 165+ area you know you are going that fast and I would guess it feels a lot different that say a 911 would at those speeds, i.e. quite well planted.

Yes... 3k for 150bhp sounds like a bargain.

Is this the conversion from 4.5L to 5.5L?

I guess 150BHP extra would be very nice but where in the rev range is it? and what about additional torque? If its all top end no thanks but prgressive probably.
the only downside is what do they also do with the brakes, suspension, diff and gearbox? i very much doubt the standard stuff would take it too well.

Hmm, would this be through TVR Craft by any chance?

Just a guess, because last time, good intentions of 'spreading the word' was seen as an attempt for a free advertisement, and 8 pages of does Ash work/own them or not, and I think it all ended in tears last time...

Just my two penneth. Perhaps in stead of starting a rumour mill, an advert would be best, at least then the company involved could substantiate their own claims and be responsible for them?

I reckon they have an idea and a design and maybe have even tested it this time? So good luck and go for it! All sounds very interesting.

But I guess the extra 40 bhp from chip and induction is about £1500 max?

Havin had my car remapped and chipped I dont think that I would want any extra power. The car is only properly driveable 6 months a year anyway (weather ), and I dont think I could trust myself with 500bhp. Unfortunately I dont live in an area infested with roman roads.

I think you'd be hard pushed to get a warranty like that .. they'd warranty then parts they fit but nothing else I would imagine. i f they do warranty anything else that really is above and beyond the call of duty and would be fantastic.

It's surely common sense that if you go for any sort of tuning you're going to be putting other items under more stress and must expect a premature failure of something else in the chain, to not accept that is ludicrous .. and anyone not willing to accept that shouldn't have any tuning work done.

No NOS or any other forced-induction route.

Aerodynamics for my project is a top priority, but its something which will go through many revisions until we get it right. I cant justify spending 'mega bucks' to use a full-size wind tunnel, it would be cheaper buying a pre-proven body and dropping it on-top. So lots of painstaking tests to come after shes back together.

There will be a variety of options.
I am waiting for more information

This is purely a market scope, not an advert of any kind like justinp assumed earlier. I dont work for anyone, but if I can find a stonking deal for fellow cerbie owners, I WILL plaster it here, otherwise whats the point of a forum if we cant help each other make our ownerships more enjoyable and improve our beasts and possibly save a penny or two in the process....????

Spot on mate.

If I go in to a dentist to get me tooth sorted, and a few weeks later my knee gives in, I aint got a chance getting the dentist to sort my freakin knee out for free under my tooth job warranty...

Come on, we're talking performance tuning modifications, the modifications and any related work is always warrantied by professionals, but they're not gonna buy you a new set of brake discs because you need to use them that much harder cos of a big power mod...

Anyway, I will keep you guys posted, nothing is concrete yet, but if the interest is deep enough, then a development car and results will be plastered on here....

PS. This is for both 4.2 and 4.5's. Speed 6's are not in the equation for a 150bhp power-hike just yet, although an increase of 80bhp is theoretically possible without going FI on the speed 6's too.

Sorry my satire was obviousley too subtle for you ....I didn't really expect that type of warranty ,was just trying to make the point that the other parts of the car would suffer as a result

I'd spend it and more ,took the cerb in last week, went for a test drive to say it was running a little dog like .Well long story short,he sh*t himself and said,i think you are used to the speed the car hits ,off i'm busy.
