Cerbera tools (for Le Mans!)

So I have got all the tow rope, jump leads, tyre weld, oil etc stuff...
What things do I need that are particular to a cerb:-
So far I got
A couple of belts (water pump etc I guess!)
Throttle cable
Big fuse
Normal fuses.
Leatherman tool
allen key (one size does all)
couple of screw drivers (phillips and flat)
Ratchet and 8mm, 10mm and 13 mm sockets
Extension bar (long one)
Insulation tape
Anything else spring to mind?
Is a bottle jack a waste of time?

don't forget the fuse that sits just behind the Alternator. If it gets a hairline crack in it it plays up just as if you need a new alternator or you may even think the battery is dead. It looks like a spanner but with both heads pointing to the same side side (ok have a laugh at the tech explaination) Hubby had this go couple of years ago when in france cost a whole 1EUR to replace so he got a couple. Low and behold when we went to france the year after and a Tuscan had similar problems - same blinking fuse. Glad he carried a spare.

oh ear plugs because I can tell you after my experience of last year wheel spins city or what and fireworks until at least 4am ish. Definately required.

I will need earplugs just for the sports exhaust on the way down (and to sleep at night)!

i'd must admit that we were away in France for two weeks last year with Le Man at the end of the trip and the five days we were camping in Bleu was the best four nights cip i had the whole trip. Ear plugs in lovely job, bobs your uncle sleep until morning, they even packed up around me. But we did try the night of the racing to walk the whole circuit! and after having spent the day before at a nice certain corner with thousands of others walking up and down to see the quality cars. If you see a Tuscan (Swordfish in color) with four digits as a number plate wave as it will be hubby. I will have a chat to see what he took in the cerbera last year, but we were a back up car for quite a few Lotus sevens that were going over and they couldn't carry that much luggage. But I do know that he had a full tool kit at the bottom, jump leads,


oh and more importantly, if you have anything on your car such as nice TVR wheel nuts etc, best to remove them as they are known as collectors items at these events. And also before you start your car just double check the exhaust is clear of items.........

tvr wheel nuts? or valve dust covers?

yeah that will be the ones valve covers (did apologise for lack of tech words). Hubby had a set of plain black ones that he put on just for the trip rather than the TVR nice ones from Lev(you know the nice silver ones).

by the way - what you doing on here ? Thought you drove a swordfish spec tuscan?

well.... thing is that in our garage is a nice blue 4.2 Cerbera, but we have today brought a Tuscan which hubby will go and collect on Tuesday and take the Cerbera with him, prior to going to france with the Cambridge TVR region. So you could say at present have two TVR's one here in Guernsey and the other sitting at the dealers waiting for us to collect. No unfortunately we cannot keep both so the Cerbera is going, but we had a loverly three and a bit years with it.

Clutch bleed kit (a must in my experience)!

Mine was ceremoniously burned after recently selling the Cerb...

The only thing missing from your list that I've been advised to take is a coolant sensor?

I'd second a brade bleed tube - as someone borrowed one from me to bleed their Cerb Clutch..

Bought a scissor jack on the weekend for £10. Doesn't take up much space, so ideal for a trip to LM. Will have to setup about buying/borrowing the remainder of the list.

Was that at Le Mans 2 or 3 years ago? If so it was probably me you gave it to. Came in very useful as I ended up bleeding the system 3 times over that weekend! My first (and hopefuly last) stressful Le Mans.

I'm still in councelling for the chimp driver that I lent my pliers to (to keep them running to Le Mans) and they didn't return them.

I'll get over it, in time. A long time .
