Not running too well
Discussion
Thought I would make sure the Cerb was running ok as it's Santapod tommorrow.
Well all is not well.
filled up at garage, as I pull away Mil light comes on. Pull over and stop, then restart.
Still on, 20 meters up road goes off.
10 mins later it's on again.
as I pull over again the oil light flickers on and the MIL light goes off.
Check oil, fine top up a little bit anyway.
Drive off again no probs for a while then on it comes again (MIL) light.
It seems to happen as you put your foot down, well it's on and off for a while , more off with the occasional beep upon acceleration.
Oh yeah sometimes, the engine idles at 1500, this then sends the temp needle off again.
Now also I noticed the fans came straight on as soom as I turned on the electrics, even though the car was stone cold.
Also tracker called to ask If I was driving.
Well whats up? I will be at Santa pod tommorrow if any one has the cable, I would realy appreciate one of you chaps in the know taking a look. It looks like I may not be able to run it afterall, then again maybe tommorrow it will be in a better mood.
One last thing the car was stuttering upon heavy throttle, as if you were hitting the limiter but at 5000rpm, or like the fuel air mix was all over the place, This mostly occured in top gear.
It has been extremly wet here over the last few days, could it be as simply as that, or the petrol maybe. Help.

If the fans are coming on its most likely the coolant sensor. If the ECU detects its faulty it defaults the temp to 95 and the fans come on at 92 and 95 - hence both turn on when cold if the coolant sensor or its wiring is faulty.
Very likely corrosion/crud in the connector as the sensor is low down in the engine bay (at least it is on a 4.2)
