These cerbs just keep getting better and better.
Constant evolution on the rollers means we now target areas that only gain power, relatively simple tweaks are now liberating the true potential of the engines.
Just come back from the rollers :

324 @wheels is a great result, especially on what is agreed to be a conservative dyno...but with those driveline losses, taken as a percentage of wheel output, my 4.2 would be kicking out 361

what were your figures sean?
found it, 284hp/294lbs.
so yours is a 360hp car on that basis (4.2s normally have slightly lower roller losses due to the smaller tyre width). that's fairly typical for a strong well maintained std spec car .. i don't see any appreciable gain with remaps on the 4.2s that's why I don't remap them.
i understand mark does a lot of part throttle work though to get the response / driveability better, which to be fair isn't that bad on the 4.2 anyway, so they must be almost like driving a proper car afterwards

nopies, beaten cliff's car .. cliff will no doubt get the mods though in due course. I think we struggled with cliff's because it was slightly down on hp before any mods after the mapping, this car just happens to be quite strong I think. But it's not a GT and it's not a red rose, it's not even got short induction pipes.. just a std T reg cerbie 4.5 with a few tweaks.

True, but mine should be close, running 255/40s on 17s. Must say, that surprises me a little, the things must be WAY heavier that 1250 kg

Agreed on that, it may be placebo, but there also feels to be more torque low-mid range.
Now c'mon, what half the Cerb owners want to know, is when do you come up with a Joospeed 4.2 hardware tuning kit?

It was a bit of a tongue in cheek comment, as I got my car back from Joolz a couple of weeks ago and it was putting 325 @wheels.

In short Joolz...no. Promised by the weekend. Had a few delays on parts, but thats another story.
Actually, regarding 'standard', I was hoping to get clarification in writing before saying anything, which I havent yet, but what the hell...Cant give you full info as yet, but in short my car's original owner is a well known car collector and very wealthy American friend of Peter Wheelers, who made him a 'special' car. (he also owns Griff LE 99/100)
When Austec took the engine out/apart they noticed the engine number had 'GT' stamped before the numbers and the pistons/cylinders (I think) are bigger than normal. This goes some way to explaining the larger power and torque figures.

the rolling losses are load and road speed related ..
typically griffs/chims even with wide rubber don't proiduce this kind of loss figure .. 50bhp maybe?
but a griff chim is lighter by some 150kg or more, and also their power is all over way before a cerbera which typically will be generating another 30-40mph roller speed before the run ends. that takes a lot more power to generate as the losses increased dramatically at high speeds.
as i've said before, the best way to reduce losses is run in a lower gear.
