engine gone not happy

well was driving car stuttered a bit stalled pulled up engines siezed having it stripped but nothing in oil or water no casing damged is the timing chain?
garage are saying got to go tvr in black pool any one got any ideas,

Don't quote me but in past experience when what you described happened to me I'd spun a bearing, so there wouldn't be any mix of fluids, just a siezed crank journal.

Doesn't sound good whatever.

Topcats racing and TVR-Power in Coventry can also do rebuilds, but if its a warranty job, then its as Peter said.

96 4.2 - assume then it is not a warranty job. Tread carefully! Get car to an AJP expert quickly. A rebuild on a car of that age might not be cost effective. A 2nd hand engine might be the way to go. Wouldnt bother with Yank engine or M3 engine myself.
If you want a rebuild then you need to spend money getting engine removed, sent to TopCats, TVR Power or factory for a strip. The investigative work will cost plenty of cash as well (and shipping of engine).
Why not try SXS' lot (albeit unproven and unknown).

Not that long ago Tom @ Bell hill garage had a couple of 4.2 engines for sale , he's a nice helpful chap to.
find his contact in the oily pages.

I f buying a 2nd hand 4.2 engigne then do research ie has it had later clutch assembly, cams etc... Again I would use an AJP expert to help me find appropriate engine. Good scrappies do offer refunds.

If mine bites the bullet, depending on the price from "power", I think I'm mostly likely to stick one of the "American Speed" chevy units in.

That has to depend on what is replaced plus the labour element.

Your engine blowing is a big problem, and it will cost megga $$$$$.

I think you should look nation wide for a solution, not just in Lincoln.

car booked in to tvr craft on thursday so fingers crossed be back on road soon but financially worse off!

Nick - who are TVR Craft?
Have they rebuilt AJP engines before?
do they send them off to blackpool (in bits or whole) or do they do it themselves.
What experience do they have?
What is the turnaround. - you dont want to wait 6 - 9 months! You really want it sorted in 2 or 3 weeks.
