Actually didnt pay out on 2.5 claims
First was for a starter motor, not sure why they didnt pay out on this one, but I dont think Austec (hope they aint reading this) ever charged me for it, what with all the confusion and heated conversations with WMS, so I wasnt too worried about chasing this one.
Second was water in the ecu/chip. They wouldnt pay for a replacement but wanted Austec to send the chip away to some electrical bod, who happened to be handy with a soldering iron, to fix, although he had NO experience with TVRs, let alone cerbs. ECU chips are all the same arent they? Err, no! After much tooing and froing, Austec convinced them to pay out for a recon chip from Mark Adams (thats the .5), pre- remap, that is
Third was recently when I had a piston leak and the engine had to come out. They told me to get the engine out, sent down an assessor who just walked away muttering wear & tear, never to be seen again.
I also have the AA parts and labour warranty now, so we called them out to make a claim, but they werent intereeted as I handnt used their recovery to get the car to Austecs, although I am led to believe that if you follow the proper proceedure with the AA, they are pretty good with their claims.
Im just glad I didnt pay full price for the WMS warranty.
