Whats happened to my clutch?

Hi all,
Diagnose this please:
Clutch feels fine, i.e. as stiff as always, but with the pedal down the clutch doesn't actually disengage.

Surely can't be loss of fluid, as the pedal would feel floppy then.

I had the slave cylinder and seals changed and the master's seals too a couple of weeks back.

Has anyone any ideas?

Sounds like the clutch plate is sticking to the flywheel or you've lost too many fingers to release it.

I had this just last week and it turned out to be the clutch slave seals dragging and the fluid hole was blocked with the bits that had come off!

In the end I stripped it cleaned it then all was fine.

Sounds like clutch fingers to me.

Good feel but not being able to select gears are a classic sign.

Try rebleeding it first -I've found that it's very easy to let air get sucked in via the loose-fitting bleed nipple. Rebleed it and wrap a small piece of plumbers tape around it to prevent air leaking in.

I had to re-bleed my hydraulic release twice to get all the air out of it. It has always been a pain every time it was disturbed.

Must at least be worth a try before exploring other options. There must be somewhere in there for the air to lurk....

My money is on the clutch fingers - sounds exactly like my experience just before I had to have a new clutch.

Did you have the holes at 9.15 or 12.30?
