I've been reading the cerb forums about brakes and I'm more confused than ever confused

This is a picture of my caliper

I think that this is a AP CP 5200 - am I correct?

However, where I'm confused is what is the size of brake disk that I can fit with this caliper, 28mm, 30mm thickness, 302, 322 mm diameter - or something else - the car is a 99 4.5

I've bought TVR J0759 PR front discs (30mm thickness, 322mm dia) but don't know now if these are going to be correct.

Since it's a 4.5 you have six bolt calipers which gives you the best options

The AP website gives the maximum disc thickness as 32mm, and diameter is dependent on mountings

Max = Ø330.0 / - Min = Ø304.0

They will be fine, but I don't like them because they crack

Mine lasted a few years, but it was still disappointing to actually hear and see them cracking (where they are drilled) after a track day at Donnington

I'm missing a front caliper too so will have to source - think its a front left - if anyone has one of these spare I'd like o to buy one to match the one I've got
Ouch - good luck, but that might be a bit awkward

Perhaps try TVR Glen, it won't be easy, you might have to buy a pair and then sell the odd caliper

You may have 2 piece bells and rotors fitted at the moment, which are a better set up and provide a lot of options. If you do, keep hold of them for future use or offer them to someone else on here, but don't junk them.

The original discs have long gone so don't know what was on them unfortunately - I'm missing a front caliper too so will have to source - think its a front left - if anyone has one of these spare I'd like o to buy one to match the one I've got

4.5's with a 1 piece disc were all 322mm, I did have a batch of 330mm made up they are all long gone apart from my stash of 2 brand new sets in the corner of my unit. If you file the edges of those calipers you can get a 343mm disc under it, I also have a set of Alcon discs in this size in my disc collection! smile

Cracking is standard for drilled discs.. This isn't necessarily a reflection on the TVR discs.. Porsche/BMW etc discs do it too when punished.
