Just a quick post in case anyone is ordering new drive shaft circlips and comes across this post.

My Cerb is a 99 4.5 and I have been replacing the gaiters as the car has been off the road for some time, so have removed the old boots, cleaned up the CV joints, repacked with grease and then put the new TVR parts R0047 circlips on the drive shaft - when I realised with gentle movement on the cv joint against the circlip that I could pop them off!

I went and got the old ones and there is quite a difference between the two (the old one is at the top and new at the bottom);

The original has a thickness of between 1.92-1.95mm whereas the TVR part has a thickness of 2.35mm

Whilst that doesn't seem a lot when you put the cage and new circlip on the drive shaft = you can see that it doesn't clip in;

When you use the original then it fits really snug

I've re-used two of the originals but need two new ones - so will have to source some - just wanted to post this so if anyone else is ordering they may find that they don't fit

Great tip thanks

Never underestimate the damage that can be done by a transmission circlip that doesn't fit or fails for some reason

Just a follow up on this thread , the new circlips came and fit perfectly - I have a load spare so if anyone needs any drop me a mail and I'll post them to you.

TVR parts one on the lbottom, original in the middle and new one at the top - it's slightly different as it has a small tab - however it's heavy duty and fits perfectly.
