Hi Team,

After weeks of trying to get all the components together to install my Oil Temp Guage, via an Oil Filter Sandwich plate, I have found the original problem that stopped me from doing it in the first place.

Lack of space !

To get the filter on, with the sandwich plate on, there is insufficient gap to the front ARB.

Have pulled the four bolts and two retaining plates which anchor it onto the chassis and not only did it not drop in my face
BUT
I couldn't lever it out with a Crowbar banghead

Any suggestions ?
(That are physically conceivable laugh)

Sold my Cerbera last October but if I remember correctly, the front ARB mounts had been additionally secured to the engine base cover plate. There may be some interaction there?

Only other thing that I could think would possibly hold it in place would be the drop links, are these still connected?

Thanks for your responses, Guys thumbup

I just added more brute force and ignorance and eventually managed to screw it in.
I misled you originally. It wasn't the Oil Filter I had the problem with, it was the Oil Filter Spanner.

Can't get it out now so I'll do the next 3,000 with it in place laugh

Speaking of Droplinks, Chris, I noticed that the rubbers are perishing.

Any idea where I can get some new ones from ? scratchchin

Have you tried acs pro in Neu Anspach? I haven’t yet but am looking at putting an order in soon. If anything the postage will be cheaper than tvr parts.
Cheers

I've changed my droplinks for modern ones with ball joints. The chim and griff people are good for suggestions for the rear. I went for Rav4 ones but had to drill out the holes on the ARB which was not easy! I had to pay the tax for the fronts so if anyone works out a better source can they stick it in the alternative parts please.

Hi Paul, if it helps you or anyone else I have a spare tvr parts ‘upgraded front drop link’ that I’m not going to use (not sure if it’s the right or left one but I can check) I never got round to returning it and it’s minus one nyloc, which is easy to source, it’s free to a good home... At least that halves the cost, it might double the shipping though as see your not in the u.k!!

Hi Chris,

An upgrade is always welcome - especially at that price biggrin

Can't PM you, due to your account settings, but if you could let me know the costs via a PM
and your preferred method of payment, I'll get it sorted.

Thanks, again, for your generosity thumbup
