oil pressure - stalling

Hi

New owner of cerb 4.5 so please bear with me!

The oil pressure seems to be around 65 when in gear and driving but drops to 40 when in neutral .... is this normal?... I seem to remember it being a steady 65 before. Also the oil was at the low marker today (actually I started car for 10 secs, thought Id better check oil, left if for 5-10 minutes and took a reading)... should I have left it longer?

is this related? it stalled 3 times when I depressed clutch for a second or two (the revs dropped right down) when out driving.

What should I check?

Oil pressure does drop when not on the gas pedal, or when its ticking over.

Check your oil on a REGULAR basis, and when cold.

The 'touching wood' phase will always be there to some extent.

Celebrated my second week of TVR ownership (more or less brand new - ie dealer's ex-demo - 4.5RR Cerbera) yesterday by breaking down in 'bus lane in central London at evening rush hour. Few minutes of screeching, intense heat, followed by complete disappearance of clutch and immobility. Traffic wardens and 'bus drivers not happy. Wife screaming about how I "sold a BMW and spent fifty grand on this piece of junk" etc.etc. I imagine others have had similar experience - - keep touching wood is my advice. Nice when it ran, though...

Is she back at the dealers? These cars to give you trying times but thats all part of it I guess,

Yes, Gorners of Wigan where I bought it used the dealership fraternity to get Racing Green to take it in this morning. Very good dealers I must say. BMW dealers were all tossers. Now all I have to do is put up with the guffaws of laughter when seen in wife's car..

Dont want to scare you at all, but mine starting stalling when trying to engage gear, depressing the clutch, just before the slave cylinder seals went!!
Was stalling at lights engaging/disengaging gears.

hmmm, how much was that? only have the aa 500quid cover at the moment..... not sure whether any others were worthwhile

Not too bad, just the inconvenience. £300'ish.
AA should cover, make sure you have transferred the warranty to that car, I hadnt, thought I was the member, not the car!!
