Man this is going to sound like such a crap question...
under the car along the underside of the chassis in the middle there is a metal trellis shappen thing held on by 4 bolts on each side. What is it's purpuse as I have a bend in one bit of the metal between the first and second bolt.

is this a major concern? I'm at Oulton park for a track day on the 9th July do could do without a lengthy garage trip!

Any advice appreciated

Just a protector for your cats. P.S. the back of the trellis holds up the centre section of your exhaust.

You'll know what it is after you've grounded the car once or twice - it's the bit that screams "OOOWWW!"

especially if you ground it out at 140mph. Ouch!

Thanks for the info, it's put my mind at rest. Just got the clutch fixed and was hoping that something else hadn't decided to break!
First track day coming up and didn't want to have to miss it - time to see what the car (or me!) can do.

thanks again
