I know, it is very sensible and not for the purist.
i'm totaly agree with their thought (cerbera without AJP or sp6 isn't really a cerbera...)....
BUT.... nevertheless, what do you think about a TVR cerbera with a TVR 500 supercharged engine/powertrain? (a chimaera SC500 engine)
It could be close in power, perhaps better in torque, very good sound TOO, very useable and maintenance wise could be less expensive.
But less free revving and could uppset the chassis weight balance a bit (don't now really the real life weight difference between the 2 engines fully dressed).

Why would you want to? You will have all the faf and expense when the AJP for one is a very unique very capable race engine and the way it fires is down to its geometry and the flat crank it fires into the exhaust aswell which is where the magic happens. The aerodynamics that Clarkson mentions in that standing mile video are in the engine and that gap to 2nd place Porsche was just getting bigger. BHP and aerodynamics make for a very efficient air pump. Ferrari wouldnt turn up because it was a straight line wide open throttle test. Im pretty sure it would be hard to beat even now. A very Special engine.

There was a rather flaky pink (Rosso) one that kept coming up in searches when I was looking in early 2016. Think it was in the Hampshire or Wiltshire area. The seller claimed that it had a much modified RV8 and I believe that it was indeed done as a cheaper replacement for a wrecked AJP8. It had a modified bonnet too, but whether that was for cooling or clearance, I don't know.Seems to be few mods to the chassis, but don't know more.
Perhaps it or its owner is still around.
Interesting question. I would ignore the haters and consider whether the end goal is worth the effort..
As for a Rover V8 in a Cerbera, I saw one for sale a few years ago.

Hi, i already done the complete body off rebuild of my Cerbera 4.5. Sandblasted châssis outriggers zinc and époxy powdercoating, all Wishbones, up rights and all nuts/bolts/washers during the lockdown.... Must do something..... You gotta do something during the Lockdown....

I thought that this was going to be a 5.0 AJP supercharged. Have you seen this car:-

Update on the recent work completed. Original BTR diff was getting noisey and clanking when braking and accellerating. I manage to borrow a 4 poster ramp so took the oppotunity to complete a lot of work.
Removed the diff and had a Quaiffe ATB LSD diff fitted whilst having the diff fully rebuilt by Competition transmission services. I also have upgraded the engine breather system to a twin outlet setup, the last single pipe one was too low on exiting the front timing cover so used to get quiet a bit of oil travelling up the pipes. This time I have taken the outlets from the top of each cam cover box and feed to a central tank. There is also a feed back to the sump that can be open and close with a valve. Looks much better and hopefully will work better too.
Fitted a genuine new clutch master cylinder and heat protected the pipe with thermal wrap all the way down to the gearbox.
serviced the whole car, new brake fluid, oil filter and supercharger belt. Removed the exhaust had it repacked and a couple of cracks repaired under warranty.
I have had a few short drives and diff is great no clunks and bangs. Clutch seems a bit lighter. Just need the weather to improve and take it out for a good spirited run.

The headers are not forward , perhaps it is possible and easier to use the forward headers of the chimaera.
Pretty impressive the BHP numbers but prefer the super charger route for less heat, better sound and lag free power.

The coyote engine would be a very good option but perhaps too wide and gravier than the rv8. But don't know if the Cerbera hadn't been a mule for the New Griffith to test this engine?
