Sorry to not let you all have a relaxing Sunday

BUT

the question list is endless....

1) I am looking at my Whirlwind short induction pipes and they are at a terrible angle to my standard airbox trumpets. The angle is quite acute and I have never been able to attach them with Jubilee Clips at the Airbox end.

In the Photo below of another AJP, the trumpets appear to be angled in an upward tilt which makes
the connection to the pipes much more flowing.

Would those of you who have experience or, preferably, know - Are these angled, intake trumpets specially made by an AfterMarket supplier
OR
are they supplied by TVR on different series of AJPs ??

Thanks for absolutely anything you can add...

2) I was having a clamber over the Motor in an attempt to get to the 2 screws, which retain the Starter Motor to the Bellhousing and, whilst my meandering mandibles groped around the area, I noticed that the plate, on which the Big Fuse is located, moved quite a lot.

Here's a 50sec Vid.

I was a bit slack-jawed at first but then thought " Ah, perhaps it's rubber-mounted to resist some of the Block's vibration ?".
Then I stopped dreaming and thought "I've not tightened that thing up properly !"

What are your opinions, please ?

However, the backplates they sell seem to be 90deg

So it looks like you'd need the induction kit that includes the pipes that you already have

Thanks for that, Paul. Yes, I had looked at their products but, with my one, good eye, couldn't work out whether they were angled or not.
I was hoping that some Sunday moocher might be able to confirm.
I'll have to give Tim a ring tommoz, I guess.

Thanks anyway,

thumbup

Hello Mr Cerbera

Have taken a look at your video and seen what's happening, that bracket should be tight to the engine block

Take a look here https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=50... There are some good images that may be of some help and a modification

Hi Paul,

My understanding (from a very long time ago!!) was that the airbuses had to be adapted to fit the short induction pipes, as the angle was wrong. I'm sure mine have been done.

I have a spare set in the garage if you'd like me to take a photo?

All the best with getting her back on the road too! driving

On mine I have no jubilee clips on the airbox end but I have the carbon fibre trumpet mount. The pipes seem to fit easily. As for the big fuse it is mounted onto two studs that come from the coil base plate and sandwich the coil between the base plate and the fuse mounting plate that is how mine is mounted but it is a TVR!
