Can anyone plug me in?
Discussion
I was wandering if anyone in the Surrey area (around junction 7 M25 even better) would be willing to plug their laptop in to the Cerb, if I popped round?
It’s just that the MIL light always comes on when I pin my right foot to the floor, it’s been doing it for a very long time & Andy at APM said not to worry about it if it’s running ok, which it is. It’s just starting to nag at the back of my mind & I’d really like to know what is causing it.

If it only comes on when the throttle is actually flat to the floor then it may be the throttle pots giving too high a reading. IIRC it will fault if one or other of the pots gives a signal higher than 90 something percent ie exceeds some voltage on the sensor wires.
It could be a mucky throttle pot and/or interference pushing the signal over its upper limit.

Mine (4.5) did that and all i did was adjust the throttle linkage.
Hhc adjusted the pots a couple of times with no success but on removing the purple pipes one day I noticed the throttle butterflies went past fully open. A quick cable adjustment sorted that and the mil light!
Many thanks for all the replys - I'm just coming off night shifts so not quite in normal working hours yet!
I check the butterflies (also 4.5), if it's not that will faulty pots show up on the lap top? I may be taking you up on that offer Joe.
Off to check the butterflies now - I'll report back.
Thanks,
Most worryingly I found when looking down the throttle bodies that when TVR machined the throats out they had the N/S bank way off centre creating a very large (at least 3mm) shoulder just beneath the butterfly, has anyone else seen this, think I may need to get a second hand set of bodies before worrying about the set up! What do you all think?
For now the butterflies will go way past fully open by hand but the accelerator pedal hits it’s end stop in just the right place for the N/S back, but the O/S butterfly does open just slightly past half way (not more than the thickness of it’s spindle) I guess that could be causing it. I’m not sure why that happens as they both open exactly together, there is a very slight amount of play in the linkage but no were near enough to make that much difference.

Well the MIL light seems to have gone - thanks for the advice. At least I think has but there is a limit to how long you can keep your foot planted in 1st & 2nd
The take off in first with the new diff mounts & Nitrons is soooo smooth now, it’s the first time I’ve ever been able to floor it in first with out wheel tramp…
I just slightly adjusted the end stop of the accelerator in the end, guess it was pushing one of the pots too far.
Thanks again guys
