I think everyone is just shocked that his insurance has gone down £1000. If mine went down that much they would owe me a lot of money!!!

This is of course true.

However, I can identify with the pleasure that is an insurance reduction - Privilege just cut my insurance by half from my previous provider ..... oh happy days

Sunninghill are very good we've used them for a couple of years - but be careful they have changed to a new broker & taken away your cover to drive any other car (if you have limited miles), but didn't tell me. I found out by getting pulled in a different car
I'm just glad I didn't find out by trying to claim....

In 98 I was banned (and jailed) for Dangerous Driving and then had to re-take my test. After I got my licence back my insurance on a 1.8 laguna 2 yrs old was £1600 third party only!!
Didn't drop £1000 after the first year either

How much time did you do, and if you dont mind me prying, what exactly did you do? It must have been serious, if you were put behind bars

Not so serious.....133mph in 70 limit. Charged with DD and speeding. Pleaded not guilty to DD but guilty to speeding. Convicted of DD then they dropped the speeding charge
Got 6 weeks (served 3) in Milton Keynes prison.
Had clean licence at the time also.
Oh and there was no incident reported, just got caught on video camera on a bright sunny clear day

Unlucky mate Must have been in a hurry eh Its no laughing matter though. Without a doubt I'll bet there are a few cerbera owners quietly contemplating their own fortunes. If you'd been caught doing 123, do you think you'd have been locked up?

Going by movies, Id rather jump off beachy head than be put behind bars. Was it as bad as one would imagine, or was the MK prison a low security 'full of motoring offenders' type prison? Again, I dont mean to pry, if you're willing to talk about it Im all ears.

Gutted to hear your story, but theres a very good message for everyone... Dont get caught

Does anyone know anyone else who served time, for driving too fast?

re: the camera, was it a scamera? Im not very knowlegable about video surveillance, and wondered what type of video unit clocked your speed?
