This wouldn't suprise me as a cash offer from a dealer ,but try and buy one for that sort of money and you will definetly struggle.A bit hypothetical and dependant on what it's part exd against anyway.

doesnt sound too far out in my experience.
TVR Dealers / TVR specialists like to haveabout 7K to play with ie to spend as little as poss doing it up and then to have enough to cover the fact that sometimes a car takes ages to shift. Some dealers have cerbs on forecourts for many many months.
If you want it s true worth eg 14 - 16 k private then advertise it here.

Black book trade price is £10900 with a retail price of about £14850. A huge difference but there always is on TVR's as the preperation bills run into the thousands.

£4K is what they will aim to make.

Mind you I would say that a 97/R even with comparatively high miles (subjectively of course) would make a little more than £14K off a forecourt.

.....but surely not if the car has just come out of the garage having all of the remedial work done on it? (In fact, I haven't even picked it up yet!!!)

problem is that Cerberas can be a liabiilty for dealers, in some cases they might buy/trade in for £10K and barely make anything, the dealer may have to make a quick decision especially if he is trying to sell you a car, many Cerberas are put right at dealers expense,
best advice is to shop around, try the independant dealers or sell privately and offer cash .

Might be wirth a call to somewhere like Dream Machines - they will sell your car for you & they don't charge an arm & a leg for it (also means you don't have the hassle of dealing with Test Pilots !!!)

We very nearly sold ours about a year ago, and they offered the best price !

I really want to get a cerbie, but I am put off buy the chance that it might go wrong. I guess this is why they are building a large safety net.

However you are paying a fraction of the price for super car speed.

The top condition, lower milers will not go that cheap.
I was looking at another Grif before I got my Cerb.

They are going now for more than I sold mine for 4-5 years ago. Why, cos they become more rare, and the best ones fetch good prices as they become sort after.

Im not worried about cheap 4.2s that have 60k and arent in good shape going for £5k, if thats what happens. But as some are saying, actually try and find one for sale at £10k, not likely is it. Apart from that other thread on ebay is slightly close. Doesnt look like it even has a drivers carpet tho.
