hi guys i was wondering what the story is with battery brains as we all know the cerbs battery gose dead if left for a wile,iv been reading the links on this forum and the battery brain seems the way to go so much so that i brought one and am looking to get it installed but before i do can anyone tell me if they are truly safe dont cause fires or such the seem easy to fit and reviews are good.has anyone had one for a wile connected? dose it perform well? are there any pit falls to watch out for?? thanks a lot guys
I've tried with one of these on my Cerbera for ages, but the problem is that the battery brain is positive terminal connected.
This means that (as far as I can tell from my many attempts) you can't have the BB connected in-line with the battery, as the battery positive terminal is underneath the front driver side wing and pushes the battery too close to the air intake pipe to make it possible
My next strategy is to relocate the BB elsewhere in the engine bay, and have a positive lead off of the battery connecting to it, but I haven't got that far yet
Interestingly I did find a Chinese negative terminal connected remote controlled isolator which I have installed on my other car, which might be a good option for the Cerb
HTH!

thanks guys, nick.ill get it installed. juddder my + connection is sticking out of the compartment the- gose under the wing when i was reading up on the installation there were a few people having that trouble maybe there diffrent on later cars mines a 1997 and from what i can see mine can go at the side of the battery or under the water bottle.i did read about a fella putting his under the air intake screwed to the body it looked good . anyway thanks again guys
Just to add, I used to park my Chimaera up in Hannover Airport in Germany and it would always be flat two or three weeks later. After two years the Car Park Services started to refuse to give me a jump start.
I tried solar panels in the fag lighter etc but only when I had a BB fitted was problem solved.
I've had one on my current Tuscan the last 9 years and it is sound.
I think they're great.
PS. I miss my Cerbera like there's something missing in my chest.
